Spring Time has Arrived!

This morning as I was driving down the driveway. I stopped the car just to look at these beautiful flowering trees. I am no expert on trees, but I was told today that these trees are ornamental pear trees. Wouldn't it be a beautiful sight if they could stayed flowering for a long period of time?

Here is a picture I'm proud of! (pat myself on the back) The tulips are up and flowering. The "twisted birch" tree is beautiful. This is on the left side of the building. There is the trellace that leads to the tent area.

The fresh bark mulch has been put down and the flowering bushes are a welcome sign of spring.

The is the set of stairs that lead into the main foyer. Both sides of the stairs are lined with built in brick planter boxes that are stuffed with flowers. A welcome sight.

The flowering trees are just such an attention getter. With all of the March rains the lawns are certainly lush. Pretty soon all of the drought warning signs will be up in full force. :)

Lobby Transformation

We are about 95% complete with our main lobby renovation. We hired a top team of local craftsman; from tile experts who laid down the marble and onyx floor. Lawton Welding did a fabulous job of creating these intricate railings. A local painter was here for weeks doing very detailed glazing and marbleizing techniques to our walls with custom murals. We are very pleased with the renovations. We hope you will be impressed and we welcome you to visit.

We are very pleased with the custom metal railings from Lawton Welding. There is much detail work and intricate designs.

The chandelier looks beautiful encompassed by the recessed sectionalized ceiling boxes. The designer choose a beautiful contrasting color.

This is the stairwell that leads up to the special events office and downstairs to the Grille & Bistro and the Ground level function rooms. Here you can see the "big picture" with the railing work with the beautiful brass railings.

Much pride was taken while installing this custom designed onyx and marble floor.

The entrance to our Grand Harborview Ballroom is impressive and definitely has that "wow" factor.

Hand painted murals and designs are featured in the stairwells that lead to the special events office. Pictured here is our waterfront gazebo, just perfect for a wedding ceremony.

Here is the exit, we will be sad to see you go; although our doors will always be open to welcome you.

Easter Brunch

A fabulous time was had on Easter Sunday! A sell out crowd was here!

The Easter bunny was spotted "hopping" through the Harborview Ballroom during Brunch. He stopped for photos while handing out chocolate Easter eggs (the good ones like Nestle crunch and Butterfingers). It could have been my eyes deceiving me, but I saw the adults taking a small handful of chocolates while the children were taking just one, very funny.

In recent years I can't remember a finer weather day for Easter. Guests were enjoying their mimosas while having brunch on our waterfront balcony. We take a lot of pride in our grounds keeping here. We had just finished putting down fresh mulch in all of the planting beds. (Thank you FalStone Landscaping). The assorted plants are popping through. What a wonderful time of year.

The chefs were serving carved prime Rib, Lamb, Honey Roasted Ham on our various carving stations. We were also serving our famous Seafood Newburg with scallops, haddock, shrimp & chunks of Lobster. This dish is always a crowd favorite. Chicken Picatta with fresh lemon and capers was also a very popular. A multitude of accompaniments were offered.

Also a multitude of breakfast items were offered including eggs Benedict, assorted crepes in addition to all the breakfast staples including freshly carved fruit and assorted juices.

A deluxe dessert station with overflowing chocolate fountain with strawberries, marsh mellows and Oreo cookies for dipping. Many cakes, chocolate mouse, homemade apple cobbler and mini-pastries were presented in Grand fashion.

Hint Hint Hint, Have you made your reservations for Mother's Day yet...?
